Storybook Illustration
Stories are relevant in many forms of art such as advertising and design. In order to be successful in this project, the art had to tell a story. I chose Elton John’s “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road” as the foundation for that story.
Since writing my own story for the project was unnessisary, I used the lyrics from “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road” as the foundation for this illustration project.
Storytelling
Storytelling, regardless of what art you are presenting, is essential. Illustration simply supplements that creative flow of thought. While not every job requires the artist to illustrate, it does require the artist to tell a story. That is part of what makes art itself so successful. It communicates an idea to the audience.
