Although this project has certainly had its challenges, I think that this turned out very good. I leanred a lot about doing 3-D renders in Adobe Illustrator. It took a while to get used to and I had to watch a few tutorials on YouTube, but I think it turned out fantastic. Rope and cardboard are both relatively cheap mateirals, so it would not be a permanent display unless the store wanted to keep it up.

Since cardboard is recycleable, so that can be recycled after the product is used. As for the rope, it can be given away for some reason once the wire and screws are removed. I don’t want the POP structure to be wasteful in the long-run. Since the materials used in most of the toys are natural, it makes sense that the structure isn’t bad for the environment either.

The most difficult part of making this strucure was definatly putting the boxes onto it. Getting the right angle and perspective took some time. I probably spent about 6 hours arranging and setting up boxes to go with the perspective. I did all of that before finallly realizing I coudl make one and copy and paste it if the perspective was good. That way the size of the boxes wouldn’t distort.

The second most difficult part was making the structure look accurate. I spent a lot of time adjusting the size and porportions of the rope itself and then the shelving. I had made the shelves in the 3-D feature, but that didn’t work out quite as planned since adjusting the sizing was difficult. Since I had made the structre to-scale in Illustrator, I made 1-inch thick shelving and extended the length until it ran into the rope. I wrote down the measurements once I competed that. With the measurements down, it will be easier to reproduce and to figure out the amount of material needed in order to make this structure.

While this is just a mock-up of the POP I designed, it effectively communicates the brand and is highly interactive. Having real rope and the  floor of the structure the pattern ot the play-mat demonstraits the product and its capabilities.

POP Display

With an interest in 3-D design, POP Displays are one of the more important ways of advertising in a fun and interesting way inside of a store. In this mockup, I created a large rope structure for dog toys intended to invite a playful detail in a typically basic environment. Hapupy is also my own brand. I created it for this class project in order to rely on some of my strengths as a designer.
